The Global Climate Design Awards Announces the 2023 GCDA Award
Nominees

74 Nominees across 6 continents, 26 countries, 64 cities- and online

Miami, FL –
November 1, 2023

The Global Climate Design Awards (GCDA) program announces the nominees for its premier edition.  The nominees, located in 6 continents, 26 countries and 64 cities, are selected following the year-long research and open call process to discover the best climate design innovations and solutions around the world.

GCDA conducts extensive research of projects, products and programs across the globe, designating awards for the best in climate design innovation. All of the awards spotlight the best works voicing the connection of design to society’s most pressing issue – climate change.

Geographic, scale, ethnic and gender diversity are critical in the GCDA research and nominee selection:

•       35% of the Nominees are based in the USA

•       42% of the Nominees are based in the EU

•       23% of this year’s Nominees are from Asia, Latin America, Canada, Africa and Australia

•       60% of the GCDA Nominees are large corporations leading their fields in sustainability, whereas 40% are smaller institutions and start-ups – of these:

–       47% are led by women

–       53% are led by men

The GCDA Judges will select thirteen winners – one in each of the following award categories: Print or Digital Advertising Campaign, Film or Video, Photography, Graphic Design & Branding, Package Design, Product Design (Consumer), Product Design (Industrial), Architecture (Commercial), Architecture (Residential), Landscape Architecture, Interior Design & Space Planning, Fashion Design, Out of the Box (OOB).

A final award, Youniversal, is given to the most popular nominee, selected by the public via social media voting.
