Honoring Design That Shapes a Climate-Positive Future: The Global Climate Design Awards Announce the Third Edition Nominees

Miami, Florida – November 5, 2025

The Global Climate Design Awards (GCDA) proudly announces the 2025 nominees, pioneering achievements in climate-conscious design, architecture, material and product innovation worldwide.

Now in its third edition, the GCDA recognizes 87 exceptional nominees from 30 countries across six continents, each representing a unique intersection of creativity and environmental intent. Together, they illustrate a global shift: design as a tool not only for problem-solving but for reimagining how we live and interact with our planet.

Each of these nominees redefines what it means to design responsibly in the face of climate challenges.

Among the standout projects are Henning Larsen’s Green Façade for Nordic Climates, a groundbreaking prototype that reimagines architecture as a living system adaptable to extreme weather, and PUMA’s Re:Suede 2.0, a biodegradable sneaker concept setting new standards for circular fashion.

“The 2025 Global Climate Design Awards honor the power of design to inspire change,” said Elizabeth Bremer, GCDA Judge. “These projects show that when creativity meets accountability, design becomes more than aesthetic—it becomes a blueprint for a resilient, thriving future.”

The GCDA ceremony will take place in March 2026 in Miami, Florida, in partnership with Dacra and the Miami Design District, with Design Architecture Senior High (DASH) as the educational partner. The event will unite leading voices in design, architecture, and material innovation to celebrate ideas that drive meaningful transformation.
